I'm Cynthia — a CPA and certified auditor. For years my world was the one you probably know too: deadlines that don't negotiate, client confidentiality that cannot be compromised, and review notes waiting at midnight.
Then AI arrived, and everyone suddenly had the same advice: “use it, it will make you faster.” What nobody could answer was the question that actually matters in our profession: how do I use this without putting a single byte of client data at risk? The courses I found taught marketers and coders — not materiality, not controls, not audit evidence.
So I did it the long way. Late nights after work, a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, the CISA, then ISACA's AAIA — while balancing a demanding career and motherhood. Slowly, the two worlds connected: I could finally translate AI into the language we already speak — risk, controls, confidentiality.
