Chapter Activity: “Build Your Own Network Map”

Goal: Visualize how computers talk to each other.

Instructions:
1️⃣ Draw (on paper or using an online diagram tool) your school or home network.

• Start with your device → router → Internet provider → cloud website (e.g., google.com).
  2️⃣ Label which protocols work at each stage.
• Example: Wi-Fi uses local network rules → HTTP/HTTPS used to reach websites.
  3️⃣ Highlight which parts are private (LAN) and which are public (WAN).
  4️⃣ Upload your drawing or take a photo of it to submit.

Extension Idea:
Use ping google.com in your device’s terminal to see how your data travels — each “Reply from” line shows a network step.
